Additional notes /comments:
Al Perez and Rick Chaidez brought up that they thought several members owe Mike Toler (our 2006 Secretary) an apology for the lack of appreciation on the amount of work put into the newsletters. Instead of receiving thanks for a very nice and detailed newsletter, Mike received complaints for a few mis-spelled names or money winnings totals that weren't completely accurate. A newsletter of this detail (instead of the one page we are used to) was very difficult to put out on a monthly basis, so a lot of the complaining also came from the infrequency of distribution. This is the reason the club did not receive any more newsletters for the second half of the year.

Moving foward on this thought, lets keep in mind how much effort is put in by several of our Board Members. There is a LOT of time spent behind the scenes on a monthly basis. Attending the meetings, bringing and preparing food for the meetings, taking notes and mailing out newletters, keeping track of club finances, handling membership and handicaps, updating this blog, scheduling and promoting of tournaments, along with the time and effort of running the tournament and skins on the day of. Several of us spend our time working at these tournaments while the rest are enjoying a drink and hanging out. Let's all try to make an effort to show thanks and appreciation for all that is done to keep the club running.
